Email Bounce- How To Stop It

An email bounce occurs when a message gets returned to a sender due to either a technical fault or an incorrect email id. Bounced emails are somewhat common with bulk emails or newsletters because the material is being delivered to a large number of people at once, raising the odds of the email bouncing back due to errors. Stopping emails from bouncing needs some attentiveness to make sure the receiving email addresses are genuine.

Here I have discussed some tips on how to stop email bounce, which will definitely help you in your email campaign:

1. Eliminate any email ids that are responsible of bounces from your email list to stop them from bouncing again.

2. Have a look at the email contact you tried to deliver the email that returned to you. If you do not notice any mistake, a good idea is to add custom fields for a contact number, so that you can use it to update the correct email address of those receivers that bounce.

3. Stay in contact with the recipients of the bounced email ids if you have their details to confirm whether their email addresses are correct or not and tell them to remove emails and ease up their inbox to make room for your messages. A completely filled inbox is a common reason for emails to bounce back.

4. Ignore using catchall email ids, which are addresses that grasp any email delivered to a specific domain name. Spammers will generally deliver to thousands of emails and place a fake email as the sending id, so bounced emails get forwarded. If the spammer used an email id with your domain name as the false sender, a catch-all email id will get all the bounces even if that id is not present. A non catchall address will only get e-mails or bounces that particularly intend for it.

5. You should use a spam filter. The settings of your email security can track bounced emails as they reach and eliminate them before you even notice them. Check your Junk or spam folder from time to time so you will be aware of any bouncing emails without flooding your inbox.

6. Remove any extra characters before the beginning of your email. Bounced emails will have headers and other special characters in the body of the email id when the message is forwarded into another message.
